Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are issued for medication which your doctor has agreed you need on a regular basis. These are usually issued monthly but you will need to see your doctor at intervals decided by the doctor so that your treatment can be monitored.

PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT TAKE REQUESTS FOR MEDICATION OVER THE TELEPHONE

New patients will need to see the doctor or pharmacist before any medication that is already taken can be prescribed by this surgery.

You can request your repeat prescription using the following methods:

    • On-line via the website www.patientaccess.com, or via your chosen app- please note that you need to enrol for online services first before you can request your first prescription. Please speak to reception if you would like to register for online services but have not yet done so.
    • Calling into the surgery between 08:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday. Please bring the tear-off slip attached to your previous prescription, TICK the items that you wish to re-order and place them in the repeat prescription box situated in the foyer.  If you do not tick which items you require and leave a blank slip, your request will not be processed.  Staff cannot presume what medications you require.
    • Post in your request but please ensure that you enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope with the request if you wish us to post the prescription back to you
    • By asking your local pharmacist to order it on your behalf; they will collect it from the surgery for you and deliver it to your home if it suits you.

Please allow two full working days (48 hours) for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.  If medication is needed before this time, please speak to reception first who will be able to advise you further. Please note, food items and medication that can be bought over the counter, will not be processed as urgent.

To raise a Query about your medication please call the surgery or use the online consultation form Medication Request / Query.
